Waterworks is a 13-storey building, on the south side of Richmond Street between Brant and Maud one block west of Spadina. Designed by Diamond & Schmitt Architects, it integrates the historicallydesignated 1932 Art Deco façade of 505 Richmond Street West and is the quintessential blend of stylish heritage architecture and advances contemporary design. The main entrance to the condominium will be from Richmond Street through the restored heritage façade at 505 Richmond Street West. Lobby and amenities have been artfully articulated and designed by Cecconi Simone. Amenities include lounges, private dining areas, kitchen, fireplace and fitness facilities, all opening onto a landscaped roof terrace designed by Janet Rosenberg Studio. An additional landscaped roof terrace is located on the 14th floor* and a fully-equipped neighbourhood YMCA is accessed by its own lobby on Richmond Street West. The YMCA will have a 25m swimming pool, full-size gymnasium, weight and conditioning rooms and community room. At the south side of Waterworks, bordering St. Andrew’s Playground/Park, the original 1932 Great Hall will be retained and converted to a European Food Hall with direct access to the park and by way of a landscaped courtyard off Richmond. The Food Hall will be a Toronto first. The developers and designers travelled to Europe and the U.S. The best ideas they gathered from visiting these halls will be incorporated into the Food Hall at Waterworks.
